When it seems the rest of the world is basking in the glory of cool, crisp weather, knitted sweaters, crunchy leaves, and steamy cups of cocoa …….here in The Woodlands, the mosquitos are still biting, we’re still sweating in the steamy swamp air, and everything is still very green and feels like summer will never end. Welcome to “Fall in Texas Y’all.” If you want portraits that scream “fall” you better do like this adorable family and put on some fall colors. Let’s shoot in that hour before sunset to grab onto some golden light making the trees look slightly autumn-y. This little wild meadow location is one of my favorites to shoot at, but you better wear your boots, because as the name implies, it’s wild. Private and perfect for running about and playing.
Autumn hued clothing, tall grass, and a golden sunset is the ideal setting for fall family portraits in The Woodlands, Texas.
Photos of just mom and dad?! you betcha! Favorite part of a session right here.
Lounging and Cuddling on a blanket, best way to show the love!
Did you know? I’m slowly collecting vintage quilts, but darn, good ones are hard to find! Ask me to send you a few photos of the ones I have in my inventory, and we will see if any work with your outfits. If not, I have solid colored blankets that work just as well. I would also like to encourage you to bring you own family heirloom blankets or quilts that adds a personal touch in my opinion!
I just love this color palette of rust, and Ochre against the fading grass. Also, note how mom mixed up the colors within the palette so that there were hints everywhere, within different prints and textures. She’s totally a pro at this!
